Sadly I cant help but notice that at the moment if you type "2CV" in you get 3000 plus, but looking at 10 years ago its 8000 plus. As the cars arent being made any more there will be less each year, understandable...but that is some steep decline. Where will it be next year...or in another 10 years?

I am worried that the car is going to get exclusive and in a few years time will become so rare people might even want to clean it!

Seriously though I am about to chainsaw the Bamboo into bits, so thats 106 of them next year.....who owns the rest of them....I will offer my services

There's been a change in the market so I'd suspect that even though we will lose some more off the list it won't be a great amount as people are beginning to realise that the 2CV's value is going up.

There are a couple of 2cvs and a dyane somewhere in a drawer at my parents house.

Does a VIN plate, V5 (and thus reg number) on SORN count....err....not that I have one of course....well...a bit maybe...perhaps... the only shame is that it's not tax exempt !

Yep, until you tell DVLA it's been scrapped then it still counts, however little of it is left in reality.

Unsurprisingly were focusing on 2cvs, of which there are 3000-ish, but have you tried other stuff? Amongst the tat behind my house there's a Skoda 136 rapid of which there are 96 left, 27 of which are licensed, and a Mitsubishi Galant, specifically a 24v 4x4, it a pretty nondescript 90's jap saloon, but apparently there are only 2 left, both sorned. That's right TWO, what the hell am I supposed to do now? I couldn't scrap it now knowing that, and god help me if the other one disappears off the list, imagine the responsibility of owning the last one, .

Just keep the Vin plate and V5..keep it SORNed ..then your concience will be clear ! ....the other owner will either never know or has been doing the same for years anyway trying to keep you happy !
