We are world famous in La Trinité Porhoët (again). It seams that the French are fascinated with stories from the past, I guess sheer nostalgia, in this case that a 2CV Garage has opened servicing and repairing 2cv’s only. Our region (Bretagne) is considered a bit remote in many French peoples mind even not very French either. Anyway it is good for us to see some free publicity in the regional newspaper.

Nice one Peter. Always good to get free publicity.

I'm curious. Where in Australia is the Bijou heading?

Cheers, Pottsy

Bugger didn't think of that being mentioned. Going to a Citroen car collector WA Port Hedland. Not a well known person but been on AF a few times.

Only joking. It is not a secret that Serge from Port Hedland bought the Bijou, see here viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2196&p=65015#p65015

Well, had a visit again from another newspaper. It looks like that the French can't get enough of 2cv stories. This 3rd story in as many years in La Trinite Porhoet.
Nothing wrong with free advertising. Very happy

Did you find an increase in custom after the last article?
Wish there were some 2cv articles in our local papers. A local Eastbourne special is when a pensioner loses control of their automatic car. There is about one a year, the last being an impromptu ram raid of a Tapas Bar by a Honda Civic

Good advertising!
Are you still able to work with all the newspaperpeople around your place?
Maybe it is an idea to have a reality series on TV like they do with very well-known people in Holland!

They often start with wacking up , and then they show you having a shower etc.
Ofcourse any disputes between you and the missus are very interesting to show on TV.

Yes, the first and second article lifted the interest in our business. Many smaller repair works around Brittany began to order parts from us + some gear boxes came to us for overhauling. Without these articles people wouldn't find out that we are around. Even Citroen dealerships around Brittany is buying parts + sending A model owners our way. They don't carry any stock + have no idea how to repair such old cars. 2CV clubs around Britttany is also reading those newspapers spreading the news to 2cv owners. I guess the newspapers here are keen to report any new businesses opening as most things are stagnated. All small villages are going backwards draining people and businesses, so new business is interesting + it is a story about French cars from the past and so on like that. I'm sure this 3rd article will lift the interest even further, which is very good for us. Been here for 3 years now, it has been tuff coming from Australia and starting with a status lower than whale shit but we are getting there.

Starting up a new business is always difficult especially in a foreign country, but such articles are really good to make people aware of your existance.
We did the same here , years ago and had good responce.
I wish you all the luck , and I am sure you will succeed in setting up a good business, meaning that you will be able to live from your business well.
