Post Confessions of a past life!
OK ...I admit it...

In the past I have broken some really good cars...at the time chassis were rotting and replacements expensive and not that available. I remember seeing ads in the local paper for 2CV MOT failures at about £50 a go...yep...its true..

So I brought a few and this poor Grey/Grey charlston had a mere bit of chassis rot...I gave fifty quid for it as I needed a spare engine.

The rest I took down the tip on the company Astra.

Oh dear...guilty as charged...

Not only would I now not have the nerve to drive a crappy Astra around with half a 2CV strapped to its roof, but the thought of breaking a perfectly good 2CV for a mere few parts and dumping the rest of it rather than saving it is of course awful.

But in those days Citroen were still selling new or second hand ones....

Sorry....hanging head in shame !!

'Salright. I broke a reasonably good Dyane not 5 years ago. I didn't save anything on it ... not the engine, not the gearbox, not the chassis, all of which I could have used now. The only thngs wrong with it were a bit of rust in the front footwells and a shagged engine breather.

And of course, I scrapped my grey Charleston last year. But that really was f**ked so I don't feel guilty about that. :)

Broaden your horizons, this one had a brand new factory engine in it; I even called the club to give it away. No takers so it died....

Well today we handed over to some pikey scrap collectors 3 engines, a gearbox, a bonnet, some batteurs, a LOAD of short club door cards and plastic, some bumpers a bonnet...

Not bothered about the fast turnover items, but were the oily bits totally jiggered?

De-cluttering is good.
The scrap man's been calling here once a week recently, 2 Dyane's worth already gone, another couple to go, then I'll be starting on what's in the sheds...
