I love that feeling. Doing ACTUAL needed driving, with a purpose, with a classic. That's just WAY better than just "going for a spin" on a sunny day. My opinion ;) That's why I almost always have a need for transportation when I drive my 2CV's or DS. I need to go somewhere, to do something.
Of course, that's also why I have little interest in owning a very very old vehicle, like pre -50's. But they are cool to watch. And even cooler when used for a purpose!

Had a number of black (refuse) bags cluttering up the place (I'm in the middle of removing wallpaper in the lounge) so decided I needed to drop them off at the local recycling centre, and decided to do so with the Morris. The nearest one was very busy, with cars queuing way down the road. After passing by three times I decided to go over to the one in the next town, so ended up doing around 25 miles  The Morris has now completed a fraction under 215 miles since it returned to the road before Christmas, and that's with winter and lockdown to contend with too. I've also been using it for the weekly shopping trip to the supermarket since the end of last month.

Popped over to the next town in the Morris on Sunday. The fuel gauge was showing just below 1/4 full, so I thought "No problem, that's enough to get me there and back home." Sadly not. The tank ran dry on the drive home   I had a mile and a half 'Walk of Shame' to get a gallon from the nearest petrol station. Thankfully the engine started immediately when I eventually returned and dumped the contents of the petrol can into the tank. Just needed to wait for the electric (6v) fuel pump to stop clicking first. I stopped at the first petrol station (opposite direction to the one I walked to) before driving home. All good fun
I really enjoy driving the old pram 8-)

You have to have an nice old fuel can in the car...I have always 5 litres in the old 2cv as it has no fuel gauge. Enjoy driving it. It's about time i finish my 5HP.

I would love to get my hands on a vintage petrol can and fit it to the running board just ahead of the door, with a corresponding oil can fitted on the opposite side of the car :) I would also love to have a period, fold-down luggage-rack fitted at the rear of the car, even though it's not strictly needed being a two-seater with a luggage compartment behind the seat

We had a friend in switzerland he was a plasterer. In the 50s he needed a car to transport his tools and materials. The cheapest he could find was a big Mercedes cabrio. Nice with all the buckets, ladders and plaster sacks on the rear seats... ;-)

Thanks very much, Peter, Monmuff isn't far from Woosta. I might even attempt it in The Pram  I'm currently 3 miles short of 300 miles since the 17th December, when it returned to the road.
