Very impressed with the service I got via Amazon Prime. I bought 3x5lts of Comma SAE40 non-detergent motor oil late last Tuesday evening and they arrived today. The cost was £52.49 with free delivery. Most companies in mainland Britain won't even entertain the thought of sending stuff to the Shetland Islands, let alone doing it for free.

Just seen images of VW's I.D. Crozz concept car and the seat fabric is taken from a Charleston.

Got a KP6 to KP7 aurora forecast tonight, which means it should be visible as far south as the Midlands. Already kicking off in Shetland. http://www.shetland.org/60n/webcams/cliff-cam

You learn something new every day. I've just discovered Citroen wasn't the first motor manufacturer to use the DS moniker. That falls to Nissan with the Datsun DS series. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datsun_DS_series

The Vintage Sports Car Club has just added the side-valve engined 1931-34 Morris Minor to its PVT (Post Vintage Thoroughbred) list. So it joins the earlier 1928-32 OHC Minor and its sister car the MG M-Type, the very first version of the MG's 2-seater Midget sportscar. Any OHC Minor and M-Type registered before 1st Jan 1931 are on the main Vintage Car list, so not included in the PVT list.

Being included on the PVT list means the cars are eligible for VSCC competitive events (track racing, hill climbs, trials). So the SV Minor will be seen competing against each other, and other eligible cars like the Austin Seven.

God, no! I have far too much respect for an 85-year-old. 8-)

Just look at the abuse they are subjected to...... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=adXCL2hVWE0

I have been to a few events and they are intoxicating, but I'd never be able to afford the constant rebuild of the running gear.

Well Storm Caroline has arrived in the Shetland Islands. Power has been off for over an hour now. Thankfully I have candles and a camping lantern. I'm also able to access my neighbour's wifi connection with BT WiFi. He has a generator for when the power goes off. I had a hot meal in work lunchtime, so I just need to make myself a sandwich this evening. Sorted.

And the power is restored. Amen!

For now.
