Seems I've upset a member by posting in the wrong thread, so I'm posting in the right thread.... Yesterday I bought a 1932 2-Seater Morris Minor Tourer. Photos (as requested) to follow in a couple of days.

That topic made me wonder, a time when I had only my Dyane. Nine years, no other car (except another Dyane for a while, when repairing broken chassis), every day driving whatever was the weather. Outside temperatures between -42°C to +35°C. Never had any issues to get anywhere...

Also other A-series showed very often on daily use, at now can't remember to seen over five of them at last year. On garage of course, and couple friends who drive them almost daily at summers, but no others... Sad...

So I learnt something about my pre-war Morris Minor last night that was a bit of a revelation. My car has the pedals in the conventional arrangement of clutch, brake, accelerator (CBA), but all the pre-war Minors were CAB! Mine has been converted. Not uncommon, apparently.

Wow, pedals in a different order? Sounds like a challenge. I love driving old cars but I've not driven one that old.

I drive a 60's Bentley for weddings and thats fully auto, I was itching to drive older ones, but apparently they start to get a bit weird like that the older they get. I'd give it a go, its worth it I guess.

The 1922 Austin Seven had the pedal arrangement in what is now the standard form. The Minor was launched in 1928 as a direct competitor to the 7, but never really challenged it. The Seven lasted until 1939, in greatly modified form from the original version, whereas the Minor was superseded by the Eight in 1934. Total production of the pre-war Minor was a little over 47,000. Longbridge managed to produce over 290,000 Sevens in its 17 year production run. That probably goes some way to explaining the reason we now drive cars with CBA pedals, and not CAB.

Some early Citroens also had same arrangement, it was a little confusing with -29 B14... Throttle at middle...

But how about T-Ford? Here in Finland we had two kind of driving licenses at the time the T-Ford was common, one for Ford and another for other cars...

I'd love to drive a Model-T. I've spent many an hour watching YouTube videos on how to drive one. Truly epic bit of non-conformity. Makes a 2CV appear completely ordinary and conventional.

With less than a week to the end of 2016 I'd just like to ask one question. What is it with this year and celebrity deaths? It has shocked me far more than any previous year. From Bowie to now George Michael! Well next Christmas the Wham song 'Last Christmas' will have a degree of poignancy to it.

Bought the pre-war Morris last Tuesday, 20th, and the V5C has arrived today! Shocking given Christmas has been slotted in between. Very impressed with Swansea and the PO. Car has had 7 previous owners since new in 1932. That's the same number as the 2CV, and that was new in 1989, and I've owned it since April 2002!!
