Quick question, hence it going here, the anti finger trap rubber on the rear doors, is there any way of removing the plastic rivets type things, either so that they're reusable, or at least so that the centres don't end up lost inside the door?

Nope, but your local garden shop should stock nylon strimmer cord in the correct diameter to provide replacement 'pins'.
Unless you're worried about those redundant items rattling around inside the doors...

I don't suppose that half a dozen tiny plastic pins will make much of a rattle, but it'll irritate me to know that they're there.

There's a repeat of Ben Fogle:New Lives in the Wild-UK on Ch5 this evening. It's the episode where he stays with an American guy who lives on Fair Isle. Funnily enough I bumped into him in Mareel, Shetland, this afternoon. The American, not Ben Fogle.

Currently experiencing the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights), which are known as the Mirrie Dancers up here in Shetland. I've been out enjoying the display up on Saxa Vord Hill, which is the highest point on Unst. Here's a couple of links to the Shetland Webcam website, which gets good views of the lights on "Cliff Cam 3" http://www.shetland.org/60n/webcams/cliff-cam-3 and "Cliff Cam 1" http://www.shetland.org/60n/webcams/cliff-cam
