You may think you are funny ;) but this is serious stuff where I come from... http://www.gazonmaaierracen.nl/index.htm They build them with bike engines and easily reach speeds over 70mph.

I don't think it's funny (although crashing into 2 cars and ending up sprawled on his back was) I think it's bloody dangerous to be honest! They take it very seriously here too, we have a 12hr race at a local agricultural college and to see some of the teams you would think it was sodding Le mans! The John Deere Works team (yes, really) has NASCAR style pit team shirts and a dry refuelling system!

Essex!

ER, no Cologne, the capri never had the essex.

The V-6 was initally used in the Ford Taunus, but it became much more famous in the European Ford Capri. (known in North America as the Mercury Capri) Cologne V-6 powered Capri RS-2600 race cars (with special aluminum Weslake heads) dominated Group 2 racing in 1971 and 1972. Capris used the Cologne V-6 until production ended late in 1986.

Sorry that's not true, the RS3100 was Essex based, but then it would have square front arches, wouldn't it?

I'm confused! The Capri owners club says they never had the Essex, but other sources say they had, who do you believe?

I suppose one way to find out was to weigh them, Essex were heavier, looking at them won't tell you as they look similar, Colognes were more powerful, Essex had more torque.

You could be right, I have no way of checking, but that Blue thing is definitely a Cologne Capri. ;)

I assumed you meant the red one.

Trust me, they had Essex engines. They are different to Cologne V6s.
