Thank you very much chaps 8-)

So the weather has been a bit crap since Thursday but today was half decent so I decided to take it out this afternoon. Ended up doing 32-miles and maxed out at 43mph on the A38 south of Droitwich  Lots of smiles, thumbs-up, and even got awww from a group of young ladies as I drove through the village of Crowle Green. Here's a shot of the stats and a photo taken at Shell Ford, currently in flood as you can see. I even managed to do a few nice, clean downshifts without any protest from the gearbox :D

A slightly belated happy Winter Solstice every one. The Future gets brighter for a little while. :)

I've managed around 130 miles since the Morris returned to the roads a little over a week ago. Here are some photos with village churches as a backdrop.

I had a leak in my compressor, one coupling was loosing air. So i took it apart, it was dirty and had a broken spring inside. When i tried to put it back together the whole coupling casting just desintergrated. I had trouble to take it apart because all threads were full of some liquid sealant that glued all up. The material was so brittle i was afraid to break the hole thing in unscrewing it. Some connections i had to heat up to get it moving...
I think it is made of zamak.

Yes or some Italian rubbish casting...
I ordered a new part from Airpress, they say in the instruction to heat it up before screwing parts on to it?

Last Friday I used the Morris for the first time this year to do the weekly shopping. I did quick checks with oil and water, then headed for the supermarket. It got plenty of love in the car park, more so than the Deuche!, then I returned home after a round trip of about 7 miles. So yesterday I gave the car another quick check-over and noticed the brass cap on the SU carburettor dash-pot was missing! A reply to a quick post on the Vintage Minor forum suggests it's a common thing with the brass caps. Thankfully, I have had a rummage around in the few spares I have, and I have found a black plastic vented cap which is now in place. A new brass cap from Burlen Fuels (SU) is 15 quid.
