My aunty and uncle used to have one of those. I used to hoon it about when I was a kid but I crashed it into a tree one day, and the branches were so low I couldn't reach to shift it out of 1st gear, so it just keep ramming itself into the trunk. I also rolled the grass collecting trailer of my next door neighbours tractor mower one day. I don't know how I managed that!

Ok i will upload soon but basicaly we broke down in town and took a while to get going but we did eventually, then we risked driving up to cornwall famers (just up the road) and that is were the 2cv stayed brokendown due to the ignition switch and the points. (This was last summer some of you 2cver's were at 2cvgb camp in wendron i am sure and were flying about.) The next day we brought in a small low loader car transporter (mini size) that we had from my mini racing days and managed just to fit the 2cv on with help of the staff and towed her home, problem was the trailer was so low that every little bump in the road we hit would scrape the back of the trailer lifting the ramps under the rear wings and lifting the car damaging the rear wings. :| i will try to upload the picture of the damage soon, Got the bits off some local 2cv 'specialists' who live at Rinsey who organised the wendron camp. We then fitted the parts and since then the car is in great running order 100% reliable and great fun! :D

very brief i know i'll add more later :o

Post Re: Stupid things you have done
'twas in the south of france, during the 15,000 kilometer "loop" back to Paris(via Raid Norway; Bavaria; Austria;Italy etc) after the 2cv World Meeting in Borlange.
I read and understood the French "traveaux"/road closed sign but it was a weekend with no-one working; the sign was not blocking the road... and I just knew it was the shortcut back to our accommodation!
As we cruised around the bend ...there was the pile of dumped rubble to close off the road from the other end.

Had I been in my Landrover Discovery ..or my Citroen DS ( which would have risen to the occasion at the flick of a lever) then all would have been well.

Living in Australia and having the opportunity to travel in the "outback"
(desert etc in the middle of the continent) I recalled "walking" the discovery over a rocky track into a National Park (about 3 to 4 hours to travel 20 miles). So the pile of dirt looked like a "walk in the park" on this sunny afternoon.

The deep ditch on the side of the road certainly prevented driving around the obstacle.

Well, the low-slung ( leased) "plastic-fantastic" C4 mounted the pile OK but hung on the sill as the front wheel lost traction.
Not much damage to the car but the ego took a battering. Luckily the French were busy eating lunch and no spectators apart from "she who rolls around laughing" meant it was not so embarassing.
Cave-man style, I used a rock to dig myself out. The bleeding fingertips were a salient reminder for a few days. Ho Hum

i know its somthing i did'nt do or stupid but the women was a stupid B****

yesterday my brother was having his driving lesson when some ducks were crossing the middle of the road and i know most people would run them over  , but he had to follow the rules so the stopped to let them cross.

but a women came around a corner right next to them and hit them in the back at 40 MPH! she was speeding of course and we believe to not paying attention.

when they got out the car with bad necks she came out gob smacked and says "oh god im so sorry but im in a hurry i need to get to a funeral" :o
are instructor just told her she was goin no where!, then he asked have you got your insuracne papers she says "ummm no" then he asked have you got your driving license "ummm no"

i cant imagine the face my instructor must of had , AND now iv got to learn in a different car :x

so heres some images
below is the image of the rear of are instructors car, they think it could be a write of as the subframe has bent into the wheels and might cost over £3,500

During a cloudburst I reversed my car into a mountain - that was pretty stupid.

The mountain turned out to be 'Lord Hereford's Nob' on the Welsh/English border - that made it embarrassing.

The worst bit came when I staggered into the pub, dripping wet and declared: 'Sorry, I got stuck backing up Lord Hereford's Nob...'
