Just got it insured with Adrian Flux For £141 with agreed value and 3000 miles plus £32 for european breakdown cover.

That's a bit better than I had with Direct Line who don't do classic or agreed value and wanted £248 with no breakdown cover.

Turns out it's a little cheaper than that. They had included life insurance which I don't need so it's £15 less.

The actual premium is £96, but they charge a one off set up fee of £30.

When did set up fees come in? It's getting a bit like Ryanair :?

Do we reckon there'd be any chance of stickying this thread? I hadn't heard of quite a few of these brokers before...

They also make sure it's not worth claiming anyway. Unless the car's worth more than a grand you're better off not claiming and either repairing it yourself or scrapping it. Obviously, if you stack a load of other cars that aren't yours, then they've got you by the twig-and-giggleberries.

It seems that with the way 2CV prices are going they'll all be worth more than a grand.

I'm going to agree £3000 for mine because I'll have to pay at least that to get a replacement in the same condition.

Got my paperwork through from PJ today :)

What I don't understand - its exactly the same policy as FJ underwritten by the same people, Equity Redstar. FJ refused to go lower than £419, and PJ gave it to me for £375?

I'm happy, the paperwork is much more friendly and they've made the excess clear. I'm still stuck with a 'young driver' excess of £150 but at least they actually told me!

Same here, Sam. FJ say that Equity Redstar won't insure me for a trip abroad of more than 35 days, whereas PJ say they will. I think that newbies PJ are currently pulling out all the stops to get new customers on board.

The one weirdism, as that I'm not insured to drive other people's cars with PJ, whereas I was with FJ. I can live with that though.

Have you got an unlimited mileage? I had to go for that before they let me drive other cars. Heaven knows what difference it makes.
