Do FJ include travel insurance in their policies, or did I dream it?

No you didn't, they do include personal travel insurance.

Thought so! That's one thing Peter James don't offer, well, at least not on my policy.

Yes, I finally noticed that recently as well. I'd better get some travel insurance before Spain, then.

Just renewed my insurance commencing 1st July with Footman James. Both the Minor and the 2CV on agreed values of £7750 and £6000 respectively. Unlimited mileage and European-wide breakdown cover included. All for £215. My modern car's insurance is also due on the 1st July, so I've also dealt with that this morning. I'm currently with Hastings Direct and I paid £293 for 2016/17. They wanted £425 this year! Just accepted and paid a quote from Churchill for £238. This is for the Golf 1.4TSI with the 7 speed DSG, adaptive cruise with autonomous emergency braking, and all-round parking sensors. Ridiculously cheap, but I'm not complaining.

I think FJ also lets you drive other people's cars ....... providing the other car is over thirty years old.

I tried to insure with Lancaster last year. I will never ever touch them with a barge pole now. I phoned requesting quotes for 2 vehicles, and stated clearly i did not want to be phoned i would phone them when i had decided. I had a phone call 10 mins later asking if i wanted to take up the quote. Fine - no thank you, please let me have some time to think.
An hour passes, another call. Please do not call me again.

by the end of the day i had received 9 phone calls from them. I even called them after the 6th to tell them to stop harassing me and that i would be in touch should i wish to take up the quote. they "took me off their re call list". i answered the 9th call and lost it and explained in clear terms i was not happy with the persistence.

I emailed them to request the never contact me again and 9 phone calls is clear harrassment. They never replied. Just added me to their mailing list!!!

i rang the insurance ombudsmen who where less then helpful and referred me to some other organisation. I gave up
