Carole Nash won't insure a classic car if its a main car for anything like competitive rates. They've just quoted me £400+ for what FJ wanted £160 for. Sad times. I can't get hold of Bishop Calway because its the weekend.

I've been with FJ for many years, but they upped it too much this year. I rang Peter James (and mentioned that I am an FJ customer) and got the same cover for half the FJ renewal.

Im dead impressed with adrian flux - albeit not 2cv insurance but they gave me a rough quote (not bought one yet so no reg no) me on a 3L,surf hilux i was exspecting it to be 1k or something silly - nope, the quote for me today as a 19 yr old, £620!!!

Thats only with 2 years ncb, whereas in may ill have 3 and come end of june ill have 4 technically (and hopefully)

I emailed back asking for an idea and if theyd do a multicar policy for the truck and 2cv on classic lets see what they say

Now to save like fuck to buy one.... :-(

Heres a new one for ya.. insured the ami for £230something, went through gocompare originally, just to get prices. Did all the drop down bars of questions.. blah blahh, hit enter... The price above was from Lancaster, so i promptly phoned up, added full breakdown cover for an extra £30, confirmed details and paid upfront.

Now as you're all aware, the ami was involved in an accident, now Chaucer (the underwriters) have told me i cant have a courtesy car, and are so far refusing to payout 'due to the fact i have more than one car'.. erm what?!

Turns out Chaucer are one of those companies, like Russ mentioned, that wont actually insure you if a classic is your only car. I asked why they'd sold me the policy when i never said i had another vehicle, i had 11000miles on the policy AND, had social, domestic and pleasure and commuting to a place of work, you'd think they'd ask why i wanted that for a 'weekend vehicle'. anyway, im now in the possition where they have taken it, and wont pay, and their response was 'you have three other cars mr parker' YOU WHAT?!

I've double and triple checked the certificate, and the original quote is still saved online, i was asked how many vehicles were in the household, of course the answer is three. HOWEVER, under that question it asks 'how many vehicles do you have access to?' i had clicked none of course, so what on earth are they playing at?
