They've come up trumps - £169 for a vehicle limited to 3000 miles, pretty damn good.

So with D*lly on Adrian Flux at £315 and Mehari or Van ( ;) Adrian) with Bishop Calway at £169 that's both insured for £484 :)

I've just spent over 10 minutes filling in the online forms for a quote from Lancaster. Got to the end and it said phone them. They won't be getting my business. :x :x :x

Just got it insured with Adrian Flux For £141 with agreed value and 3000 miles plus £32 for european breakdown cover.

That's a bit better than I had with Direct Line who don't do classic or agreed value and wanted £248 with no breakdown cover.

Yes Neil! I renewed with Peter James

i know i'll get all the shocked faces but FJ were offering me a renewal of £556 or something around that, agreed value of about £1250 and limited milage to 6,000 a year.. they had last year offered me a quote of £280 something to have unlimited milage to which i said no..

i rang Peter James a few weeks before i needed to renew and had instant service (no classical holding music for the usual 20 minutes) the people i spoke to over the phone were great and im on pretty much the same policy as with footman james, but for £546 and unlimited milage :D still get the UK and EU breakdown cover too!

You'll get an unsurprised face from me. FJ, Flux, Lancaster - all the "big names" - seem to have me on some kind of blacklist, and only ever give me thoroughly ridiculous quotes.

Best quotes I've had for the A-series in the last few years have come from these guys. Again, small broker giving "proper service".

I've just swapped to Peter James, as FJ wouldn't insure me for my 4 month trip to France this year -they did it for my similar trip last year, though they charged me an extra 50 quid. Anyway, Peter James can do it, and all for just 14 quid more than my standard FJ price for this year!

Yes, that's who I'm insuring Hetty with as it has to be your second car, not a daily driver :)
