It is seldom we hear good stories associated with APUA help so here is mine.
Lorraine, junior Viking and I decided to visit Santa in Lapland just before Christmas but how do we go about travelling in Finland. We consulted our friend Jukka from Vaasa and before we could say 123, Jukka offered his 2cv to us. Naturally we said yes straight away. Tickets ordered on line to Vaasa and off we went. Meanwhile Jukka mentioned to a 2cv person in Rovaniemi near the Arctic Circle that we were heading north to visit Santa Village. Well to our surprise Juha and family invited us to stay for a few days in their home. We have never met before but what a lovely family housing and feeding us. Juha took us for a walk in the forest at 22.00 only minus 27 but his favourite place had a campfire. Soon Juha had the nice warm fire going and threw a few deer sausages on the grill, fantastic.
We like to say a BIG thank you very much to Jukka and wife Paivi for lending his 2cv and for the stay at their warm and cosy home in Vaasa. Also a huge thanks to Juha and family in Rovaniemi for showing us his favourite places + housing us.
