can some of the french cohort confirm the law on putting kids in the front of a car? we got 2nd 2cv to transport all the crap and kids to Salabris next year, plan was to have 2 cars one with no seats in the rear as a load lugger, and its always usefull to separate the kids too so can i get a 6 yr old in the front...she is really cute the,gendarms will love her  Sean |

I'm not 100% sure but I think a child has to be 10 or over to be in the front seat in France. Please do correct me if wrong

Sean, I had no probs driving in France this summer with my daughter. She was in the front of the car the whole time. But then we were in my smart that time  - kind of the same as a 2cv with the rear bench taken out ?Sure it will be fine for you next year...

sort of relevant, if you have a child in the front of a van its highly frowned upon in this country, however if the van has no rear seats, only front 3 then its ok, i geuss it would be the same, if theres no other seats, then where can they sit, although im sure the french law would be slightly different... |

cool artyclarty so will have the pussywagon with no rear seatbelts as it pre dates rear belt laws here 6yr old happily in front Austeritywagon will have rear belts fitted but no seat a bit of spannering and we can do day trips 4 up everyone belted Sean |
