Yes, it's 400cc. 2CV is translated as "two horse power", but that is not bhp - it is French fiscal horsepower which means 400cc. That was the size of the original engine.
original engine was 375cc, surely?

Re: How well do you know 2cvs you should take a test! Well I got 8/10. But what muppet wrote that nonsense? I've come to learn that you should never believe anything you read or hear. The 2cv was in The Spy Who Loved Me  'fraid not. Front and rear suspension share one spring? Nope. First cars had a 425cc engine? No!! I could go on, but I'll stop now

Re: How well do you know 2cvs you should take a test! I got the first wrong, fiscal horsepower isnt directly related to engine size is it? The longest 2cv race isn't in Snetterton (Spa is 24 minutes longer), All 2cvs have a boot, rehardless of what the lid is made from, I've seen turbocharged 2cvs that haven't 'often' caught fire, as Sopwithcamel says, the Spy who loved me didn't feature a 2cv, etc etc etc...
Still, it's nice that AOL have taken the time to feature our little cars though, it would've been nicer if they'd got the facts right...

Re: How well do you know 2cvs you should take a test! I think they must be mistaking the 2cv for the Lotus that starred in The Spy Who Loved Me. A submersible 2cv is just SO wrong, it just won't work....For a start it'll leak and by the time you find a beach to drive up, the only bits left will be the engine,gearbox and galvanised chassis....the rest would of rusted away
