Don’t worry - not really.

Next time I want a contentious thread, I'll post a contentious topic... :(

Anyways, many thanks for the replies.

(In a way I didn’t quite expect, it had its odd insight into certain people’s psychology...)

I hope we can all agree that people have the right to do whatever they damned well like with their cars – including naming them if that’s their kettle of worms. We all also have the right to think what we want about peeps who do this. However, we don’t always have the right to say it out loud…

(I don’t know who first came up with ‘Slamboo’, but I’d always assumed it was ‘cos it was a ‘Bamboo’ model wot had been ‘slammed’ (lowered)? In which case I - personally - think it’s a cracking name and one that should only have the positive result of causing amusement. I enjoy and value people's wit almost more than anything else.)

With car names there are bound to be some right groaners out there, in which case the only response should be to smile wryly and gently mouth ‘twit’ to yourself whilst slowly fumbling in your pocket for a particularly sharp key. That shouldn’t actually be used, of course…

To be fair though, you did foresee it yourself...

Ha ha - yes, although I was being sarcastic.

I did expect polarised opinions, but not the bickering which unfortunately brought the thread to a close.

Anyways... c'est la vie.
