				  Door Cards

(For Neil mainly) the stock door cards are crap. flimsy, old, damaged etc... All i do is rip the vinyl off, trace onto new mdf, mark holes etc and jigsaw out the pattern. Buy some sort of carpet (NEC show £10 a sheet) and cover it either with spray adhesive and staple gun it on the rear. done a couple of cars now and the only problems I have found is that if the carpet is too thick the original clips dont hold it to the doors very well and if the staples are too long they poke through and you catch your hands on them... Here are some of my attempts D*lly from along way back.... Latest ones on Jeremy including BX door pockets

Those Citroen Accessoirie 2cv door pockets are very flimsy. We've still got some, in the D*lly, which we've had since the 1980s, but they are cracked and have had to be 'repaired' with black tape.
I really like having BX door pockets in my 2cv, as TIMMY shows above. They are quite small, but they're neat, fit well, and look pretty good.

I think they are all the same length, although some of them have a flat top whereas others slant down slightly towards the back. Maybe mk1 Bee Arks ones are long though??
  I'm sure I've seen Visa ones fitted to a 2cv. They're long.

				  Re: Door Cards

here's the original door cards (minus the vinyl, obviously) pretty haggered, so i thought i'd better try & make summat to replace 'em. Found a sheet of hardboard & with my Dad standing on the original card & with the aid of a few heavy items i managed to get it flat enough to be able to draw around! a bit of jigsaw and holesaw action later: i had managed to salvage the original vinyl covering, but it too is a bit on the ropey side, although the foam padding is useable - so i'll be looking out for some black vinyl to replace it, may even have a look in the local charity shops & see if i can score some old leather jackets!
