Post subject:  Urgent! Save a 2cv van in Scotland.

Cath has posted the following today on the 2cvgb forum. As it needs the publicity spread the word and maybe someone can also repost on the CCC forum:-

2cv van (French)
Received this by email this morning (talk about short notice!) Sadly I'm not able to do anything this weekend as I already have plans.

Hi Everyone

I have a very old 2cv van (french) which unfortunately has deteriorated to such an extent that its not repairable unless you are an expert. I have to try and find a home for parts and/or the whole van by this weekend. It is towable. From what I understand the chassis is fine as it is galvanised but almost everything attached to it is rusted out completely. The front lights and wing I believe is workable although a bit rusty. I'm really looking for any offers at all (the chassis would be good given the problems that 2cv's have with this and would rather the bits and pieces that could be used are used by people who love the cars rather than it just be scrapped. I know this is very short notice - i've only had a mechanic look at it yesterday as I thought that it would be something that could be repaired. My home phone number is 01506 239383. It is situated in Armadale. Hopefully someone may be interested.
