Welcome! Sounds like a bit of a gem. How come it was laid up for so long?

Neil & Citroenboat
Many thanks for the welcome, I'm not sure of the reason why the car wasn't used for all those years, but it was put away dry and obviously in a well ventilated space as the bodywork, brakes and exhaust are all fine. I've totally cleaned out the whole fuel system and only recently managed to get a smooth slow tick-over, the thing that really seem to help was I removed and blasted out the idle jet. I also opened up the tappets from 5 to 25mm, re set the points 4mm and adjusted the timing to 8dgs, is was 16 dg BTDC. I changed the engine and gearbox oils, new oil filter and the engine now runs very smoothly.
A great engine to work on, I'm looking forward to next Spring to get her back on the road again. I've a question of electronic ignition systems - I'll post it on the technical section.
Cheers, and Happy Christmas toyou all, Elliot

Hi, I'm Rob from the Netherlands as well. Quite some Ducthies here I see.
I have been lurking around here for some time, and thought is was time for a proper introduction.
I own my 2CV since 1996. Owned one before that. The last one was in the garage waiting for restauration since 1999. Full body off restauration, engine overhauled, but not restored (yet)
Started working on it March 2013, and got it on the road in October 2014, just in time for the 2CV24h meeting at SPA. Almost flawless use for 2 months. Happy here!
Now back in the shop for engine restauration. Looking for a Quaife diff, and maybe an engine upgrade with 652cc cylinders from VGS.
But seeing the costs, might just get new 602cc cylinders and pistons from Perfect Circle.
And I'd like to install the 12-spark ignition system.

Hmm, still a lot to do coming 2 months, untill I can legally get the car on the road again next spring. (due to the tax regulations here, I chose the option where I can't drive the car during winter)

Cheers, Rob

Greetings from Finland!
I've been driving 2cv's for ten years now. I've got 2CV6 and an AK350, which is currently under repair and painting. I bought it in October 2014 and been searching parts and prepping it for the final painting. I have a friend who is great welder, painter and overall repairman and the van is currently in his garage and care.

I also had an Acadiane for couple of years, but I had to sell it to raise money for the AK. I also got other vehicles, Fiat 600, vespa, some velosolexes and mobylettes, Pannonia sidecar motorcycle and an 1952 Excelsior Roadmaster R1 historic motorcycle.

Let's see if I can attach a pic for you. Happy Easter!

Yep!
The original bonnet was modded with a spare wheel, but I found a ripple bonnet for her.

So far I only browsed the forum. I registered myself almost five years ago and I think It is high time to say hello, so hello everyone! :)
My name is Tomasz and I'm from Poland. More specifically from Milicz. I have a Citroen 2CV6 "Club" from 1985. I bought it five years ago and I made a small renovation. It is fully drivable but I need to put in it some more work. For example, I need to buy new hood. Even if it is not perfect I very like it, it gives me a lot of fun.

Greetings from Poland!
