Never done that bit, but I once gave a hitcher a lift from Dingle to Tralee in my old Charleston... and he gave me a jar of magic mushrooms as a sign of his gratitude! Result!

No, never lived in Ireland, just enjoy the visits. The mushroom incident happened during a two-week long meander one October 15 years or so ago  following the craic down the west coast. My memory of the trip is a haze of late nights in peat-smoky pubs listening to the music, Guinness, young travellers frying their brains on the Dingle shrooms (making less and less sense and looking more and more haggard every day), and some great conversations with the locals. It was a brilliant time.
I was driving an A-reg Charleston at the time, A81 HEA, which developed a squeaky wiper motor during the trip. Not having any tools (and being too hungover mostly) to fix it, and being too stingy to pay for a garage to sort it out, the bloody thing nearly drove us mad. Boy did it rain!

BTW, is Fungi the Dingle Dolphin still doing his thing? And Tralee? Has it gone rough?

Yeah, Tralee can be as rough as a badger's....... good place for amateur facial surgery too...

As regards Fungi (the dolphin not the mushrooms) I think he disappeared and then returned and then disappeared again.......not sure though.

The West is a great place in general, good pubs and people all in all.

I saw a white A reg Lomax at the Shell Garage in Northallerton whilst filling up yesterday afternoon. Had a chat with the owner and he's a member of the Citroen Specials Club

Most Saturdays here in Epsom there's a pristine red H van in the market selling his wares.

I'll try but will have to wait 'till Saturday week as it's the Derby this coming Saturday and the roads here on the Downs will be gridlocked all day.

Recently:
A Lomax with all its wheels westbound on the A27 near chichester.
A red spesh with cutaway rear wings and white adventure things on the rear wings crossing the level crossing next to Petersfield Station on Friday at about 6.40pm
A van in an allotment near Shoreham this afternoon.

And there's always a red/black Charleston parked at Shoreham Airport.

I was followed down the Ludlow road to Much Wenlock the other day by what appeared in my mirror to be a very nice Y reg red Club. We exchanged waves, but I was faster than them.
