Post Anybody out there interested in these?
Some of you who saw my old Bamboo might have seen the mounts I made for the speakers, mounted in the roof. I'm considering making a few batches of them and selling them as kits, would anybody be interested in them?

I welded mine into the roof, but I'm thinking of making these so that they pop-rivet onto the roof crossbar and the side rails, it will involve drilling 3 x 3.5mm holes but nowhere intrusive. They could be fitted in half an hour or so, and the speaker cables run with the rest of the wiring loom round the top of the car and down the windscreen frame.

The advantages are that they sit out of the way in the roof space, are not obvious to any thief and are better placed for being able to hear them at 75mph.

If there's enough interest, I'll make and sell them as kits for two speakers (ie, one car), laser cut 1.5mm plates with all holes cut, powder coated and ready to be attatched, including speaker pods and rivets, and a simple template for drilling the holes. (ie, it'll be a professional finish)

For a complete kit as described I'd have to sell them for about €35-€40 per kit.

Anybody want a set? I'm thinking of making a batch of 10 to take to Caen, or if there's enough interest, I could send them out to you for the cost of the postage.

Here's a picture (bear in mind these are welded, the kits would be held on with rivets)

Anybody?

I think that's a very smart way of mounting the speakers Russ - I'm certainly tempted, but I've already got fronts, rears and a sub, and more to the point no spare cash. Think your price is fair though.

If you offered a fitting service as well.......

I currently have a pair of speakers ziptied into that position, and it does seem to be a very good place to put speakers.
