Going to the garage to see the 2CV Saturday, mechanic says it's in bits on the ramp and he wants me to see "lots of problems"... oh the horror! (oh the bank balance!)

Does your mechanic have a clue about 2cvs?

He is Dunkley Motor Services in Botesdale, Norfolk and is on the Ecas site as a 2CV friendly garage... he probably knows to much about 2CV's in a way(!)

I don't mind spending money to make it right, but as we all know there is a limit :)

Ah.

It's not exactly unknown for "normal garages" to look at a 2cv and come up with a list a mile long when there's very little actually wrong. If he's 2cv-friendly, and says "Umm...", then it probably does have some problems.

Hey-ho. Once he's done it, it should be good for a while to come.

At least when work is done to a 2cv, you can feel the difference(unlike on a modern car, where you can spend hundreds of pounds and it feels the same). Just having a service on a 2cv, makes a difference. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

At the garage today wasn't so bad.
A spark plug wont go back in and I will need a new chassis next year.
Expensive, maybe, but cheaper than a Ferrari obsession or something.
