Who would you recommend as a good bodywork specialist? Somebody that does insurance work, has a good spray shop, and knows their way around welding a 2cv body?

Cheers Roy :)

last time Neil, I was insured with Churchill and they wrote her off at £650. So using that and the personal injury Silly CVs changed the chassis and put a new rear panel on.

The worst experiance I had was with a company in Bognor caled GTR Autobodies. I wasn't happy so tool her back (twice) the second time I went back my dad nearly got punched and I got called a "f*****g c**t with no proof we touched your f*****g car"

What are you after? Good solid structure or cosmetics?

For the cosmetics, the "2cv experience" bit is the least important. I'd go for a damn good general bodyshop over a 2cv specialist.

Let a good welder (again, 2cv expertise isn't essential - just a bit of intelligence and sympathy) get the structure right, then get the shell to a bodyshop for prettification.

Pete Abott or Graham Wilson.

I'd second Pete Abbott - he did a load of work on my car. The quality of work was excellent and the care taken second to none. In fact, I'll be going back in March for some more work.

All the work i've seen of Pete's is top notch. Graham Wilson is local to me & has certainly turned out some fantastic rebuilds/repairs. He did the bodywork on Walford Bruens slough built as featured in this months magazine...

Sam,
As you're in Sussex, I'd still reccomend Just 2cv.
Just 2cv

A couple of people have said that but I can't get hold of Mark, I've been ringing and left a mesage but no response :?

I'm very much in favour of going locally though, I don't really want to have to go a long way.

Daras Rich has recommended Arun Body Shop. They used to do all the bodywork for either Sussex 2cv or Tin Snail, I can't remember which.

They sprayed and Daras' 350 for him and some others too. So I've got a couple of good references.

I'm torn between going the distance for a 2cv specialist or staying local. I've had experiances with both!
