Crikey! - found this on the old Beeb http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/opensecrets/ ... p_2007.xls
Its a link to a spreadsheet that gives most, but not all, models that were MOT'd in 2007 - According to this, there were 2,580 2CV's and only 146 Dyanes MOT'd that year - Talk about dying breed!

Looks like 446 cars failed MOT on "Drivers view of the road" , does that mean the sunvisor was down? Perhaps a Magic Tree was hanging on the rear-view mirror.

That's interesting, does anybody else recall a white (i think) 1992 'K' plate (I think) 2cv at a couple of UK meetings? could another have been registered later? I seem to recall a blue/cream D*lly recently came up for sale that was much later than '90?

Was I dreaming all this?

Spanners can confirm this, I believe......David Hyam Citroen, in Brum, sold a new 2cv in '89/'90 to one Paddy Hopkirk(yes, The Paddy Hopkirk) who then asked for it to be stored, unregistered  I'm sure Spanners told me it was later registered on a K plate, or even a P plate, my memory is a bit vague on this.

There's a P Reg 2cv around, registered in 1997 I *think* Jono knows the owner. It was at Rochefort in 1998, and it was on eBay a few year ago...

There's a few kicking about on "later-than-expected" plates, but I'm surprised they got one registered as late as 1st March 1997!

Don't forget that cats were required on all new cars in the UK from August '92. IIRC, there were some exemptions for a year for "old stock", but...

Can i just say that these figures are dubious to say the least.

I mean, No Morris Minors had an MOT test in 2007 at all. No Morris of any type in fact. Nor did any Triumph other than Acclaim, Spitfire, Dolomite. Only a few Buicks, no Cadillacs prior to 1971 (except for a '58) nor any Oldsmobiles, Plymouths or any Dodge other than SRT-10 and Ram? I know this to be total rubbish just from my friends cars that were definitly MOT'd

No wonder that VOSA have squirmed to avoid publishing this meaningless mess.

As usual data is only as good as the people entering it and i suspect that there is a lot of missing or inaccurarte data in there. Dont take it as gospel.

It's only first-test stats I think, so you have to add the passes and fails together to get the number of cars actually tested - so that's 4,000 odd 2cvs and over 200 Dyanes.

The P reg white 2cv? I don't actually know the owner, but I did speak to him in Rochefort in 1998. He was there with that car. I seem to recall that he registered it on the last date that he could. However, I can't remember the reason.

Of course, there's also a prefix W reg H van out there. Apparently, when it was first registered, about 10 years ago, the DVLA office cocked up and gave it a W prefix instead of the W suffix that it should have had!

There doesn't appear to be anything pre-mid/late '70s UNLESS the make/model was reused on later cars (Lotus Elan)
Nor does there appear to be anything that might not have an importer's reference on the DVLA model list.
