Post Re: seats
Whilst we're on the subject of seats, has anybody any experience of making modern 2cv seats into the early hammock-style seats? The early ones are much more attractive, in an austere sort of way! I even quite fancy the idea of the TPV prototype front seats. No seat back frame at all, just a bar across the top suspended from the roof bar on wires! The wierder the better!

750cc Panda had a similar arrangement in the rear, could probably be adapted?

Are you sure Russell? I had a Panda 1000CL and the rear seat back was steel. Maybe the 750 was even more austere. I do remember the front parcel shelf being a hammock style thing though.Very useful. Nothing ever fell off it! Actually it was a damn good little car, apart from having a cambelt, radiator, hoses, distributor etc. etc. :)

Yes, defo sure, I had a 1000cl too, but it had the luxury seats, that were made from metal, the basic 750 (and maybe early 1000s?) had hammock seats. probably thin on the ground now though?

below is a sketch my friend made of his seat frames to fit BX seats in a 2cv. I think the frames were originally purchased from silly cvs at great cost some years ago!
