Post subject:  A Bridge Too Far
After being reminded of the Borlange trip, I've been hankering after driving over some beautiful bridges... I wanted to start a thread of some examples you all love!

I grew up in the Tamar Valley, so this one was a very regular feature - Image seems to be before the overhang!

Got to love this:

And of course, the stunning Millau - has anyone been over it yet?

Although it's not a road bridge, I spent many a drunken Friday night wondering over this (we knew there were no trains - until a freight one came by one day and we had to duck into the little cut-aways!!), only to find out my great-grandfather was one of the chief engineers!

Is this just me, or is it quite normal to be awestruck by bridges...?

Last year we had a couple come over here from New Zealand to attend our 2CV course.

Their holiday, which took in the course, was a tour of Europe to visit and see as many bridges of note as they could. That was the main purpose of their holiday.

Bridges can be magnificent this to see and the French do seem to have got quite good at them.

Did the millau in 2007 whilst we were at the french national at Egleton (can't find the photos) went over it and under it. A stunning sight. Well worth a visit if you're close by.

I did seriously think about it, when I was at the 2007 French National, but my car wasn't feeling too great on that trip, so I just wanted to get back up north. I'll do it one day 8-)

In Maastricht are some nice and old bridges over the river Meuse. The city centre is also worth seeing!

i cross this every day to & fro work! takes around 9 minutes to walk. I've managed 55mph across there in the 2cv, during the quiet period!

Is that still a toll bridge, Neil? If so, how much and is it payable in both directions?
