that was around years ago - think someone in the Avon Racing Tortoises built it; 2 front ends of 2cv's, like a push-me, pull-you. It was on eBay 3 years or so ago, then not long after it was being advertised on American eBay! :?

Post Re: Bodge jobs.
well not just 2cvs get bodged
my ami was bodged up quite nicely too :)

it has a new sill cut in half and seam welded over the old rotten one, both sides
also a floor each side, edge cut off and welded over the original and a few big patches were already on the existing floor underneath,so 3 layers of rust
then the bulkhead had a long section on the inside over the holes
i suppose it was just patched up to re mot it but the worst bit was the black bitumin underseal over the whole lot,its a right old mess when you cut it out,and was stuck over all the underlay
mine wasnt hidden though the seller told me it would need new floors and sills, and reconed a couple of days work would have most of it done, maybe im slow then as ive spent about 6 days on it so far and only finished one side and the other sides not even cut out yet and theres a big part i need to make above the new bulkhead too

not even got round to getting the wings off to clean and check under there
and the roof needs doing both sides at the front
i did buy it only as it needed doing i wouldnt have wanted a finished car!

least it runs and drives i spose :)

im only spot welding the new sections in , about 1 cm apart couldnt really tell if they were like this or seam welded in as you can see it was a bit of a mess

i think im after a refund from ziebart :)
althuogh to be fiar the body is pretty good and the chassis is unrepaired and possibly original, didnt get any history really

i will add some more next week of the repairs on one side if anyone would like to see how its going

It's an Ami. It's lasted about a quarter of a century past the vast majority dissolving. I think I'd be sending 'em a "Thanks!" message, not a stroppogram!
