I know I'm a bit of an outsider to this group of practical people but I'm not sure I see the arguement/complaint. Certainly over at a larger citroen club (the one that encompasses other models) there's a group of people who are about as likely to get their car out of a garage as they are to sell their daughter to the highest bidder, but I've rarely come across that type of person in the 2cv world.

The people you talk about can't be that common really can they? Tony can't make that many 2cv's to sell to people who want a 'classic'. We've got one of his cheaper creations (have done for about four years) but thats only because mum used to be into it all and missed it, now she's loving getting back into the local group.

Isn't there a space for everyone?

Obviously there is space for everyone Pete,

Im not the sort of guy that hates or is aggressive normally at all. But its put best above, they become fashonable or chiq everynow and then and TBH none of us are here because of that, were here because we really love these cars and we wont naff off when the novelty is gone or the bottom falls out, which you know these people will.

you know I'm with you on this, but it's really hard to put into words without pigeon-holing people and sounding derogatry about them.

Is that you Louis?

So pleased you've sorted your broadband Lou, Have you been on the cheap red again?? Our 4x4 is fantastic thanks mate!

Its more than the car - its the people - 25 years years I've been on the scene - lots of different people (some tossers - some not) lots of different cars - lots of opinions - am still mates with my 2cv friends from when I was 17 and that says something! Will defo be pissed at national French and UK with the same friends as I was 25 years ago!!!

Rich

 It's fortunate for such as myself then :D ....that people like you turn up at 2CV meets .... ;)
It saves people like me from having to polish our cars too much to keep them looking nice .... ;)
I would'nt wanna be seen dead driving a "sh*t box".
