 Re: Leboncoin/eBay finds
Am I right in saying that copper gives off a toxic gas at high (car exhaust) temperatures? I'm sure a 2CV'er I knew yonks ago had a copper exhaust and mentioned something about it being illegal due to gases given off.

Most of the gasses coming from the exhaust aren't particularly healthy But it could possibly get more toxic because of the forming of copper sulfate. Choices for copper could be because of the sound or appearance, i don't care how well it could sound, i wouldn't want a copper exhaust on any of my cars, if it was free.

A quick Google reveals that £20 or so buys a 3m length anyway.

£200 for some bent copper pipe is taking the piss. If it was a full exhaust polished for a show car the. £200 is good value. I could make them for half what that clown is asking btw, if anybody wants to waste some money...

Probably something to do with resonance.
