Loaded it up to the hilt with shite for the tip. Went to the tip. Bloke at the tip stated '' a bird comes up here in one of those with red wings '' . Sighed. Dropped of said shite at tip and came home. Looked at box containing new roof. Didn't open box and had a beer instead.

Drove mine over 500 miles at the weekend. Home from work 6am, quick coffee, out again by 7am to go up to Yorkshire (via Manchester to drop off a Land Rover part for someone from the Land Rover forum). Apart from an hour or so stationary on the M6 while the aftermath of a large accident was cleared up, not a bad journey. Then yesterday I drove into Leeds, picked up my brother and went up to Croft for the 2cv racing. We saw one race, but missed the second because he had to get back home. Then I watched the F1 and drove back to Ross, arriving about half one this morning. The Dyane ran pretty well, apart from being reluctant to fire up because it's way down on compression on the left hand cylinder. Spare engine going in soon ...

Been out for a birthday pootle  in the 2CV this afternoon. Unfortunately the exhaust broke just ahead of the torpedo, so it's going to have a new one fitted next week.

Took the rear and front passenger seats out, drove to Leroy Merlin at Limoges.Loaded 3 kitchen work tops in 1.8 metre each and 6 pieces of oak 2.2 metres long.No problem even the boot shut with room to spare.Worktops secured with straps through the top and bottom of rear passenger door.
I do love how versatile the 2CV is and I love watching peoples faces as your arrive at the car loaded with stuff

Did a little fix to the broken exhaust this afternoon using kitchen foil, which lasted all of two miles   It's not blowing too loudly though, so I can live with it till next Tuesday when it'll be replaced.

I opened all the available orifices, looked up to the blue sky and drove it with gay abandon pretending I was on my way to a tabac down some leafy D road.
