How many of those complaining have contacted the relevant people? If that fails, then I think it's fair enough to have a whinge in public, but you're best off going to the source of the problem first.

This also seems to be veering towards the thread drift that Sam doesn't like...

Quite right, stay on topic please! If you want to ramble I can recommend the perfect 2cv forum for it ;)

Cheers Mark that would be great. I'm slowly making international contacts. Might get something going with the Slovenian 2cv club.

On topic. Sam as Editor? Thank fuck for that!

Off topic. Emu, pm me your address and I'll post out a copy of the last 2CVGB News. Share a house with the Chair, so get spares! Hell, I'll even cover the postage if you buy me a pint sometime!

Being new to 2cv I would like to see a tech section. Articles with pictures on maintence ie setting the timing, adjusting the valves, rebuilding a brake master, alternator, starter. How to adjust the parking brake, doing a complete brake job or clutch. How about intro to welding from basic equipment to advanced tig welding.
Here in the states its rare to see another 2cv much less find a shop to work on the car.

I like a these ideas. Things like setting points up properly is a great idea :)

*facepalm*
Yeah, cheers for that, mate... That'll help my mission no end. ;)

May I humbly suggest you also post a similar thread on the "ramblers' forum" in case any members would like to make some input as well? Don't know if you saw it, but there's been a few polls on recent mag issues for people to vote on what articles they liked, and there's always a thread discussing this month's magazine, which might give you some insights as well?

I think the desire for more tech articles/interviews/A-Series editorial content is pretty universal. Personally, I echo the sentiment above about stuff for novices. Although I'm anything but new to 2CVs, I still haven't got a clue how they work, and would quite like to be able to do the very basic stuff myself.

That said, volunteers did put a lot of time, and the Club some investment, into producing and revising the Members' Handbook which has all that basic tech stuff in it. I reckon there's still a place in the mag for some, though. The forum also has about 10 years' worth of tech advice/users' FAQs stored up in its 250Gb database, so even if members don't want to partake in the banter, it's still an extensive knowledgebase for A-Series technical advice.

Hmm.. Do you think the 2CVGB Cookie Monster struck about the same time your membership lapsed, RT? Coincidence? Could be..! x

No, I was actually on there for about three months after my membership lapsed! I always knew I was on borrowed time ... I'll get round to rejoining one of these days. :)

Yes a very good idea but who is going to write it. I started to write about repairs in this forum but gave up due to so called experts shooting it to pieces just because I didn't write it or followed their way of repairing. Still today I get small sour drops about my king pin replacement write up, telling me that some is wrong  Bugger that.
Oh yes, don't use a gasless welder, its hopeless but I still use mine without problems despite what the experts say.

Sorry Anna!

My initial reason for posting here was so that non members could give an insite as to what they would like to see in a club magazine, what content could possibly pursued them to join.

I didn't realise there was so much tech archive on the club forum. Hmmm....
