Hallo Smiffy,

The color is Bleu Ardoise AC 105 From 1966. Not her original but I kinda like it.
The car was aquired on 2008 and had a properone year rebuilding excluding the engine.
Since then it gave me happy :D and sad  motoring experiences.

Cheers

hi all, i have just bought back a 1987 2cv that i sold about 15 years ago, i allways said that i wanted first refusal so its now back in my hands!
its looking a bit grim with a bit of rust here and there on the body but with some tlc should clean up ok, the chassis was replaced a few years ago and has been waxoiled so that side of things are ok, she starts and runs ok and brakes etc all seem to work.
i am planning on using it for some kind of charity fundraiser rally type thing such as...

http://www.screwballrally.co.uk/

i am situated in kedington, suffolk and just to be really annoying my other love [vehicle wise] is american cars so to that end i run a 96 dodge ram pick up [last in a line of "yanks"] then as a mode of transport to work and to exersise and rais a bit for charity every year i cycle about 70 miles a week.

i am self employed and have run my own garage since 1993 so hope i can contribute in some way to this forum
oh i nearly forgot that my "winter" hobby is off roading in places such as the brecon beacons, sailsbury plain ect!!

Hello everyone :) I'M Mark from Slough in England ,Yup that Slough.
Wow this place is big
Anyway I'm returning to 2Cv-ing after a 20 or so year hiatus Back then I had a D*lly (Is that word really Asterixed out? How intruiging tell me more Please?).
I was a young pup back then and after my parents deciding they were fed up with rescuing me in a series of heaps they wanted me to get a new ...or nearly new car.
Being a Classic nut i went down to sands in Burnham and got a D*lly.
I then drove that about for a few years (Mostly flat out) until I did as all 20 year olds do, Overcooked it and crashed it... badly.
Roll through the years i have had many cars Beetles Vw Campers, a 64 Ford Falcon. but I never completely forgot the little citroen and the amount of abuse it would happily put up with.
So I started saving and this weekend I will be picking up another D*lly same colours red and White but this one is looking a little tired and a bit Frilly around its arse.
Not got any pictures as yet but its a tatty R&W D*lly and im guessing you have all seen one of them
Apparently the car has a name, and it is quite well known (I might be wrong)
Fred the Shed anyone?

Anyway Im a bit of a Hotrodder at heart, without the budget, I have plans for Fred...Oh yes :D

Cheers for the welcome Russell, Yup thats the one, It's had quite a bit of work recently from what im told and can see.
and I do hear it has been all over the gaff, being an Ex Vw owner that is going to take a bit of getting used to.
I have been through years of Fix, weld, spend lots of money, MOT go to a couple of shows but nothing too far... Break down, save up, Fix ,weld ...Ad Nausium. So the whole possibility of getting somewhere in between might be a culture shock.
The possability of taking said Citroen over 50 or so miles to a show might take some persuading for a while.
Its a trust thing
Im sure by the time I get him back from Warminster all will be well in my world

I've had plenty of 2cvs over the years, but only recently did I have similar concerns with my 425 2cv, it's been fine driving to work but the idea of driving it 150 miles to registers weekend filled me with dread and left me quivering. Now I've done it, and it was almost trouble free I'd drive the bastard anywhere. In fact, the fun comes from the fact that it seems to be a proper little Trojan and as yet has been virtually unstoppable. Good luck with getting accustomed to it!
