Tbh - if you are convinced that's where the stolen cars have gone, shouldn't you report it to the police?

If its not true, then please don't spread malicious rumours - I have absolutely no truck with the over priced tosser in Oxford, but if he chooses to make an honest living selling expensive crap to unsuspecting punters then let him be - if he's doing something illegally then do something about it - but if you don't like his ethics then that's just life im afraid and you need to get over it......

Well thanks everso for patronising me like a fucking toddler. The police dealt with the situation the best they could but only one car was ever recovered, as far as I'm aware.

Selling expensive crap to unsuspecting punters and calling ones self a specialist when you're only a scrap dealer, and there's plenty of evidence that the stuff he's sold is mid described and misrepresented (there are members on here who have wasted time and money on stuff that wasn't fit for use) and that raises moral questions, and to those of us who liked 2cving because of the people involved find it a terrific shame that there are people like this who only want to make money by scrapping the cars we enjoy for nothing more than a quick buck. It's a topic which affects people who consider themselves 2cv enthusiasts, and therefore, as far as I'm concerned its a viable topic for discussion here.

If any of you are genuinely concerned about the possible breaking of stolen vehicles at the location you suggest. Then I think you need to speak to the local stolen vehicle team and voice your concerns. But don't expect them to raid the place, your info may well be just part of a puzzle, even the first part. However I would strongly suggest that you need more than gut feelings and the disgust at this mans prices. The main problem I can see with vehicles the age of ours is that very few are going to have a factory VIN stamped on the bodywork or chassis, we all know that the VIN plates can be swopped about on bodies and engines, whereas few original chassis exist.

If anyone wonders about my credentials I'm a retired copper, with many years experience as a forensic vehicle examiner.Having worked closely with stolen vehicle teams where all types of vehicle have been broken it's very hard work identifying bits of vehicle, but even more expensive to prove forensically. So no police force is going to waste time and money on something they know at the outset is a no goer. Sorry folk but that's the hard facts. Mind it's a great buzz when you do get the thieving b******s :-)

Jack, if it's the same dyane that i went to look at last year, i thouught it was a bag of shit! possibly wont have very much of an offside front wing either!

i went to look at it in cambridge last year, not sure if it still is but was advertised on carandclassic or one of them websites!

would need full floors both sides, sills, needs an offside wing and a nearside rear wing, seem to remember the whole offside isn't all that pretty either!

Ah! I though I recognised it! Yeh it needs work but is not beyond hope. I went to see it when it was for sale in Cambs too. Needs floors, sills etc but all do-able. Looks like whoever bought it a few months ago managed to make a fine job of filling in one quarter window  and has now decided to move it on.

Regarding the Langley cars, four got moved by the 'owner' in a suspicious overnight operation to an unknown location and a few of us bought anything else that was worth salvaging. The rest was a load of rotten shit. If the CLASSICCV2 recycling chap moved in for the rest then no doubt look out for lots more 'quality spares' at comedy prices. 'Specialist' my arse - it takes a lot of skill to strip a car doesn't it?

If your need turns out to be greater than mine you can keep the windscreen panel ... I'm nice like that. :D
