Later UK spec Specials had internal fastening hoods, but I know a number of Belgian spec black Specials in the UK, that still have external fastening hoods and they were built in 1989 (F plated).

It should have a drivers sunvisor.

Nope, sorry .....mine had one at the drivers side when it was new.

I stopped myself from correcting him, he's full of misinformation ;)

As a footnote, I've removed both visors from my car, they are totally useless. With them down, I can't see out the windscreen, so sod 'em!

oh... i didnt think specials had any... Lily didnt when we got her, and most of the specials ive seen dont have any...i spose if they only came with one.. looked abit pointless so most people removed.... my bad! learn something new everyday!!

The utterly knackered shed/"summerhouse" at the bottom of my garden turned out to be insulated with Lambretta parts bags. I threw 'em away.

Yes, it seems that people on the continent were capable of shutting their hoods properly! Also, some people said that the extra rust proofing that UK market cars got bunged up the slots for the external fastening hoods' clips, thus rendering them a bit dodgy. I'll see how I go with mine once the car's back on the road...

I know...I've just spat coffee across my desk reading that.

On the subject of sunvisors, I always found that they helped to act as little spoilers to direct wind out of the cab. Plus girls seem to need the mirror that they contain. Not sure why its rubbish to shave with.
