My sensible head agrees.
However, the problem seems to be the perception by authority that modern mechanics can't cope with earlier engineering. So to avoid the possible trouble this will cause they wash their hands of it and say 'there are so few old cars being used & they are all used by caring, knowledgable, enthusiasts who are experts on maintaining them that there is no problem'.
Then there is me. Who takes 3 months, 3 engine swaps, much swearing, much time, much money to ECAS, to work out the plug leads are banjaxed.
Work it out.

Just read that update and can't believe that some people who have responded to the survey have said they want pre-1960 vehicles to be MOT exempt. HELLO! They already ARE exempted.

Believe it or not, this is a Citroen!

It was called the RE-2. Built in the 70s. Had a Wankel rotary engine. Cost the company a fortune, before being consigned to the dustbin of history.

Post Re: The O/T thread!
Went to a local bourse d'exchange this weekend (busy weekend of cars for us) and found this AZ & AZU workshop manual. I have seen these go for quite a lot of money so when I asked the guy how much I thought I heard €300 but it was actually €30, which I thought was quite reasonable. I snapped it up as I love these old manuals and this one is in perfect condition and is correct for my little van.

I've just become aware of Clarke and Dawe, and specifically an interview regarding an oil tanker. Some of you might enjoy this.

Found this old garage up the road, could not resist a photo with my wife's little daily driver (sorry not a 2CV).

I'm looking for an airbrush artist to do a welding helmet for me, does anybody in I2F land know of anybody who does such things they'd recommend?

Completely Off Topic and as I can't post a new topic here is the perfect place - I have air compressor which is new, which I brought back from Korea with me when I worked out there, I've cut the two pin plug off it and put on a UK plug on, when I plug it in it runs for a bit then the 15amp breaker on top of the motor clicks out, its a 220v air compressor - I can't call the manufacturer as they don't speak English and also a little far away, before anyone comes along and says its meant to cut out when the tank is full I know that and it does when it reaches pressure - its not that it the breaker (which is 15amp) I've checked the wiring can't see any obvious issues though it may be the capacitors but Im not an electrician - any ideas?????? or do I bite the bullet and buy a new motor for it……...

Simon
