Btw, wheel bearings must be cheap and plentiful in Argentina, judging by the popularity of those offset wheel rims. ken From what I understand Ken, those wheels are standard! I assume that the drivers door has a handle? I'll see if I can find any pics of the other side of it!

'twas a very standard thing to do to VWs back in the B289 days! No door handles are the norm - most tended to route a door release button somewhere else (like under wheel arches, within the bumper, etc.) and have the locks on a bleeper.

looking at the gap between the ground and the front of the sill, that was *very* low.

A little more digging suggests that another popular way of doing handleless is to use a key fob boot release that actually pops the boot - Rover fastbacks from scrappers are good for this. Need two seperate ones, obviously... To continue the B289 series, I'm not sure whether I actually like any of these: I LOVE this though!!

Russell, 'cough', I think these are the same (reversed rim) and if that's a standard offset, it's time to eat my hat... Russell wrote: Never mind the accelerated bearing wear, they'd be fairly dangerous on the track if there was any contact with another car.
