I hate to ask, but...
I could do with some advice.
In nearly twenty years of driving the nearest I came to 'normal' was a 3 month stint with a Visa Super E 1.1. The rest has been strickly A series.
I could do with something to knock about in while I mend The Dyane but don't know where to start.
I could do with spending under 500 on something cheap to run and insure. So far I have my eye on an AX and a couple of Clios.
What we saying?

AX Diesel. Cheap to buy & run, i think they were once one of the most economical cars you could buy. 70/80 mpg rings a bell...

Or even a ZX estate, 1.9d. Apart from the high tax bracket (£205?) per annum, they are super cheap to buy & to run. They'd be a great parts chaser for collecting Dyane bits & they'd cope with towing an A-series well, too...

Oh, fair enough though, there are some cheap ones about, cheers.
I had hoped it wouldn't come to this, but I wouldn't be the first Dyane owner to go down that path.

The iron block 1.5 is less troublesome than the alloy block 1.4, allegedly.

There's a petrol one down the road claiming 50mpg, that might do.
It's a salsa, bit garish inside!
