Post Re: nearly that time of year
well im talking like, 1 bubble, so i could rub it all back, sand all the rust out, red oxide it, and finish it up, and then fill the inside with wax oil?

isnt it a frigging expensive panel? the rear sweeps dont have a spec of rust on them though..

If the bubble is visible outside, then rubbing it back will reveal lots more rust.

You can't sand the rust away though, that's the problem. The rust will have started between two panels, what's apparent on the surface will be ten times worse under the skin. All you'll do by sanding it is reveal holes and the more serious rust between the panels. You won't solve that with red lead.

There's a valid reason one rear sweep on my car is bubbly and I didn't touch it. It wouldn't have been a couple of quid's worth of rear sweep, it would have meant a back panel and probably the other rear sweep, and the boot floor.

Post Re: nearly that time of year
rightyo, so i got some wax oil, and got it for a bargain, as idis agreed with the price that they wanted for it, (i know the guy, and im always doing that in that shop,) so it should of been, about 29,99 got it for £10. bargain, so grabbed 10 litres, got down to the workshop, filled me parafin gun up, thinned it down a bit, and got going, so i decided, i would start witht he drivers side a post, so i popped the plug out, and start fillin 'er up with wax oil, and after a while, i see it come out of a hole, so i stop, thenfor about 10 minutes, its pooring out of the bottom of the car, no idea where from, should it be doing that, does that mean ive given it a good dosing, or not?

i really like the parafin gun idea, i like the way it sprays, and all that, so is the fact that it runs out like that a good thing? is my front of the a post adequatly done, ? or do i need to top it up,

thanks :D

If it's not dribbling out of every drain hole and seam, then you didn't use enough.
