 Re: D*lly Lovers Thread
Bit off topic folks.....D*lly is just a b.....y paint job - get over it, its a classic car and the paint doesnt make any difference! Clubs were certainly around in 78/79 long before Specials came into the UK

 Re: D*lly Lovers Thread
Russ, the difference between a 2cv6 and a 2cv6 Club, is the badge. The Special was introduced as a base model, so the Club name was applied to the regular 2cv6, to differentiate between the two. The difference between the Club and Special:-The Club has rectangle headlights, Special has round headlights. The Club has the big dash(speedo), the Special has the small dash, also the same with bumpers, wide on Club, narrow on Special. The Club has an interior light, Special doesn't. Club has passenger visor, Special doesn't. Club has interior door cappings, Special...you get the picture Think there are quite a few other subtle differences, but can't be bothered to "Research" any more.

2cv6 and 2cv6 Club, other than a badge on the boot, and a black strip on the sills... i can't think of anything else! btw, Jonathan, the special shouldn't have any interior sunvisors!

 Re: D*lly Lovers Thread
To my mind, the only difference worth remembering is that 2CV's/Dyanes/AK350's/AKS400's/Ami6's/Ami8's/Bijou's/Meharis/Acadianes/etc etc etc all share the same basic principle which is what makes them so brilliant, and what makes everything else just landfill.

I stopped myself from correcting him, he's full of misinformation As a footnote, I've removed both visors from my car, they are totally useless. With them down, I can't see out the windscreen, so sod 'em!

Russell wrote: No, between a club and a 2cv6, that looks the same to my uneducated eyes. The badge is different! Apart from that, they're the same car. The 'chrome' strip on the sill changed to black tape, and the seats changed from targa to jersey cloth at about the same time as the name change, but I'm not sure if it was at exactly the same time.

I put a pair of Dyane ones in my car [the one that was in was a cheap tacky plasticky thing] ......the Dyane ones are'nt quite as tacky .....and they're still totally useless as sun visors, but they make good wind deflectors with the roof off. Special did'nt have an ashtray or rear parcel "hammock" shelf thingy either ..... Can anyone remember the early specials? ......there was something different about the roof fastenings ......IIRC,there was a few cases of the roofs flying open at "speed" T.

 Re: D*lly Lovers Thread
external fastening hoods - they fixed using a clip on the lugs on the panel just above the windscreen. Worked well enough on early cars, but when they got the full power 602 they weren't really up to the job! Jono has an external fastening hood on his early (UK) special.
