Post Re: Leboncoin/eBay finds

That very car was on 2cvcity's website for five quid short of ten grand for a long time. The price gradually came down until it eventually sold. It looks like it's now on its way up again.

Personally, I wouldn't want it at any price. Regardless of who's done the work or how rust free it may or may not be, I can't stand shiny ones with alloy wheels and plush interiors. Even rubber floor mats are a luxury too far, never mind carpets!

Sam,
looking at the photograph of what lurks under the bonnet, for the asking price of £4,800 you might expect to see a serviceable set of demist tubes, an alternator belt cover fitted, a headlight aim adjustment mechanism which was complete and so had some chance of working as it should.
How about those side repeaters which are an MOT requirement for a car of this age?
Some mudflaps might be a good idea, maybe even rubber buffers on the over riders instead of a strip of black tape to hide the bolt holes.

Far too many 'paint shop jobs' around nowadays, with those who churn them out having little knowledge of or any interest in the mechanical aspects of the cars... :(

ken.

Mine has all these things Ken [except the wing repeaters]

Yours is different ... it's not all bling and silly wheels. It isn't my cup of tea, but it is still a 2cv.
