A RHD Mehari ( or is it an El Cid ? )

Yes, El Cid - my friend Jerry has one - his is green. One of the tell tales is the lack of chevrons on the rear tail gate. The other is usually being RHD.

And the way the blemishes look. It's made of glass fibre and not moulded ABS.

There was one genuine RHD mehari, believed to be in Australia now. That's an El Cid, as pointed out there's no chevrons and it has peculiar weather gear. Although the Mehari has the aerodynamics of a small bungalow, it makes up for it by weighing nothing. The El Cid looses this advantage as GRP is way heavier than ABS.

I sent an ebay message to the seller pointing out that it could be an El Cid and lo and behold the listing has been ended.

Still there when I had a look just now?
Pity that the vendor feels to need to pack their spiel with so many lies, the hood being from a 34 year old car takes some nerve...

Some folks on here may recognise this one, I for one have the remains of the old steering column in my garage and possibly, a chunk of A pillar that dropped of it somewhere in my garage..... ;)
