Love the bikes lads......I love Austrian and German vintage bikes, at the moment I have a 1928 JPAG Velo (Johannes PUCH AG. of PUCH mopeds fame) and two old 1930's Adlers.....Beautiful engineering on all of them and parts are a breeze to get.

Great stuff.

Yep, do it!
We used to take both of our old 'sit up and beg' bikes to France on top of the trailer and the French folk we spoke to loved them.

Therein lay the problem...
The bikes which were the best build quality lasted the buyer for their lifetime, so the manufacturer never got a repeat sale.
Wonder who discovered built-in obsolescence and if the discovery was accidental or deliberate?

I will say now, my bike is a one of the very last Nottingham built Raleighs, so it's a rather boring Y-frame job. Quite fancy a real oldie, though.

I really want some kind of cool campsite transport, like some people take solexes. It would have to be home made or modified in some way, preferably with some citroen element to it. Velosolex motor on a kid's BMX, 2CV engined deckchair, Multi-person goped for drunken motorised congas or something equally stupid. pogo stick? Ideas on a postcard.
Trip to casualty thrown in free.

I reckon a cool bike for a campsite would be one of those old folding Para bikes.....easy to pack too 8-)

The JPAG I have is an ex Austrian army bike and it has an ammo box and tool pouches, I reckon it would be sweet with some nice new paint, and some mechanics signwriting on the box.....one day.... ;)
