The colour scheme is Copra Drab on Arabian sand with black running boards and wings...wife hates it...I like it too. Incidently the reason they all have black wings and running boards is that they were classed as chassis parts !!! and thus had to be black...funny huh!

She is an inline 4 and is about 3.4lts..... not the feeble Tax strangled version...she is good for 60 odd MPH but my nerve runs out before that.....

Of all the cars I have owned and own I would still take the 2cv over any of them though, you can't beat them for handling, fun, ease of maintainance and flexibility.

The '67 Fairlane I have is a 289 V8 (4.8ltr) same engine as the mustangs..... it is a great engine....mine has a performance camshaft and straight pipe exhausts too and a holley 4 barrel carb....mmmmmmmmmmmmmm loud and will spin the wheels at 40mph.

You can hear her on this youtube clip.....only ticking over really.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZKotxmHO2A

She is my present daily driver and does 25-30mpg (as long as I don't touch the throttle)

The '69 Torino had the 302 V8 (5ltr) but it was stock.....a bit boring in comparison.
sold her last week.

My other hobby apart from 2cvs is vintage old bicycles...
I was bored this evening so I built an old bike out of some bits that were gonna get thrown out otherwise. Built on a manky old raleigh frame, left half unpainted as I once attempted to strip it completely to respray but as with most things I do, I got bored... LOL. Anyway it'll last longer than any chinese mountain bike piece of crap. Have a pointless pic

Good work! Iove old things like that. Would make ideal 2cv camp bog transport, I wanted to find an old bike to take to France next week, but never managed to find one in time.

Here's my daily:

Image

Coventry Eagle - i have no idea of it's age, must be reasonably old! I use it for the 10 mile round trip to work & back 5 days a week. This year i've had a new rear wheel, freewheel, two Michelin 'world tour' tyres, new tubes, sealed bearing BB & a new chainwheel. It's the nuts!

I love hustling real hardcore bikers with their lycra & clip on shoes - i'm there in my long trousers & steelies! Tamar Bridge is my favourite hunting ground. I get 'em in my sights and make sure i catch & overtake 'em. It prevokes the same reaction as you get when you overtake someone in a modern car with a ropey old 2cv - they'll do whatever it takes to get back in front!

Am seriously thinking of strapping my bike to the Combi-Camp and taking it to France, tomorrow.
