Possibly, and definitely.

The more 'progressive' our societies become, the less fun, freedom, and decency there appears to be don't you find? And as the world shrinks, there are also less and less places for dissenters to bolt to, as if to hide, or regroup. Nor or even places that still tolerate independent thought.

Knowing that the lifespan of man is short, those that would engineer the future don't trouble themselves with conquering the old, instead they mould the minds of young such as yourself to embrace the doctrines they push out, knowing full well that any real memory of times when there existed genuine fun, freedom, and decency are sure to die out with those that carry them.

So in a way, the future is in the hands of our children. If you like the look of the past young man, then reject the currently imposed doctrines of the future. Heaven and hell surely don't exist, but either can be created right here on earth, all it takes is the will to do so. Make your choice wisely young man, for you are the future.

I vote for a return to good manners, decency, and the driving silly old vehicles with no air-bags.

I'll let you into a secret, I hate Scotland.
But before all ye Scot's jump up an' get aw' defen-sive like, I have to say that Scotland started it. I mean, don't get me wrong I'm sure it will be a beautiful country once the rain stops, but I've only got three score an' ten, y'know. Or as they say in Glasgow Aw, C'mon!

Anyway, there was this one time many years ago when I stopped in a place with an absolutely fantastic name. It was called 'rest and be thankful'. I thought that was great - can you imagine that? I've never known a name that tells you what to do before. Anyway I did as I was told, and I found a'wee'bar that sold thirty different kinds of whisky. Thirty!

So that night the landlord introduced me to quite a few of these whiskies, and they were excellent. In those days I used to drink a lot, not like now, and so I must have sampled at least two thirds of them before I needed to take a pee, at which time I noticed my legs weren't accompanying me to the toilets. I don't remember a great deal after that, but I do remember that each of those whiskies tasted quite different, if I were to compare them to food then I would say that I had tasted everything from a meat pie to a cream cake, but here's the thing - I still prefer Jack Daniels.

And anyone that puts Coke or any other pollutant in their JD not only just doesn't understand, but should be taken out and flogged.
