It would've been built long before they started to crack down - IIRC, it was in Cars & Car Conversions in the '80s, on an Alfa flat four and Lotus running gear - and certainly way before the introduction of historic vehicle tax. Ah! That makes sense. Wouldn't happen today (And, fair point, Lenny!)

Has it pissed itself? "Dans son jus" means something along the lines of "It is what it is, and not a lot more". Basically, don't expect anything you can drive home... and don't moan when it turns out to be worse than you thought from the photos. It's probably been dragged out of a barn, maybe dusted off, and that's about your lot. The seller's setting your expectations fairly low. Ah, thanks for that explanation Was just something "lost in translation."

Somewhat more literally - it describes a decaying object with the juices of life seeping away like a dead mouse or a rotting apple! It means original cars not worked on (modified), maybe a bit rough. Like Roy's translation

 Re: Leboncoin/eBay finds
Vauxhall/Bedford. Even then you're bidding on half a badge!
