Popcorn... huh, I've just opened a bottle of vin rouge Au contraire I'm afraid, I lose interest when it starts to get personal! Besides, I have neither popcorn nor vin rouge. Although, I think there may be some Glayva in the kitchen somewhere......

Re: How many here are not 2CVGB members?
I've been a 2CVGB member since soon after I bought my first Dyane.
At the moment, I get very little from mixing with other club members or the magazine, but, in no particular order: * I stumped up £100 when Spog was launched and if I let my membership to 2CVGB lapse, then so will my Spog discount (okay, so I haven't actually bought any parts yet - the Dyane windscreen panel was too late for me - but you never know) * I'm a lone voice, but as part of a big-ish club my voice may be heard in the big bad world outside * I used to get a lot out of the club and don't begrudge giving a little (cash) back * I think I'd miss it if I wasn't a member (although I can't quite put my finger on why...) * Without 2CVGB our cars would vanish from the roads a lot quicker than if it continues * If 2CVGB ceased to exist, we'd have to invent it
So, to actually answer the main question "not me".
Why, exactly, is it relevant I wonder?

Re: How many here are not 2CVGB members?
I save the £25 fee every year with the Insurance Policy I currently have. I've also made loadsa friends over the last 31 years [yeah, thats right .... 31x25=£775 or the equivalant if anyone gets to get pedantic .....do the sums,I cant be arsed to ] .....so what > shrug< It's never left me hard up,short of beer, ciggie [or petrol] money and although I realise that money dont buy friendship, being in 2CVGB has found me friends who'll help out in times of need [and I'm not just talking cars here]. You get out of a club what you put into it. I'll keep paying my money. It's about time 2CVGB started making non members pay a load more to get into our events .....show your card .....or either cough up or f*ck off. And if you dont wanna cough up ......then stay away. Terry [2cvgb #2004] From what Terry? 2CVGB events, or owning a 2cv? The former I can deal with, the latter is hard to justify.

Terry [2cvgb #2004] I'd rather fuck off to france or belgium or somewhere, because that aint 2cving is about is it, its that sort of shit that lead to someone saying that we were "cliquey and elitist" (not sure if those were the exact words used) and at the time he was wrong, however implement as above and it would become cliquey and that shit. At this point I shall add I don't pay for 2cv GB as being under 17 I don't need it however my dad has been a member since pretty much the start and the magazine tends to be skimmed usually stopping at meeting, for sale and sometimes the modcon sections.

Hi Louis .....I'm not quite clear from your post what "shit" youre refering to .....however .... 2CVGB came about 'cos the CCC were "cliquey & elitist". Now if you wanna "duck off" to France thats your choice. My point is that as a member of 2CVGB ........I'm subsidising people like you to attend 2CVGB meets. T.
