My blue '78 with square headlamps, targa seats and thick rear bumper was badged "CLUB"

My Rouge Geranium May '78 S-reg was just badged 2cv6 - square lights, big dash, big door trims, black targa - 50k miles, un-mucked-about-with when I bought it in '86.

Ellie's Bleu Lagune '82 X-reg was badged 2cv6 Club when she bought it in '84 - square lights, big dash, big door trims, blue stripy seats, 15k miles, one owner. That bootlid's never been repainted to this day.

They were Club in all bar name - big door trims, big dash, targa seats, ashtray. It was only when we started to get the Spesh in '79 that they rebadged the "2cv6" to Club.

i thought the UK didn't receive the spesh until '81/'82 - X reg onwards?

Did you paint the car to match your house or vice versa?

Total coincidence! The house and the car had never seen each other 'till that photo was taken... someone told me about the house in Bishops Castle when they saw my car! 8-)

We didn't in Britain, but they changed the name of the 2cv6 to the 2cv6 Club when the Special gained the 6-light bodyshell (and 602cc engine? - I think some 4-light Specials had 602 - the Rouge Geranium ones...possibly). 4-light Specials had been around in France and other countries since 1976.

Anyway, it was around 78/79 that the 6 became the Club. I don't know the exact date. You do see some T reg Clubs, but I think most of them are 6s.

Been shopping again, our first D*lly, ex english RHD. Chassis bugged, picked her up today and went straight to CT to transfer the Carte de Grise to our names, no worries.

I swear my Club had "2CV6 CLUB" on the back, so who knows?

The differences between a Special & a Club Russ?

I always used to tell by the headlamps & thickness of bumper.

No, between a club and a 2cv6, that looks the same to my uneducated eyes.
