Post Re: The O/T thread!
It's sad to have to say that the general standard of driving in the UK is shite , if you are not aware that due to government cuts we now have less police to enforce any of the laws.Whilst I do not see the value of these so called 'crack teams' on police camera, driving in the manner described to deal with what is in fact no a police offence but an excise offence of no tax! But having said that after my 30 years of policing it is often these minor matters that throw up more serious offences. Either way there is no need or excuse in driving in the manner described. Before anyone replies about drivers and cars being easy targets, just think no one makes you drive like a pratt and vehicles do not kill.If any of you had to deal with the resulting carnage caused by bad driving, apart from the serious injuries and loss of life at the scene, would you want to go and tell relatives what had happened I think not, then maybe you would think twice about your driving and criticising the police.Just on more point before I fall off my soap box, please think about the effect on the police officers that have to deal with this sort of thing. Take it from me there comes a point when many can't deal with it any more.:-)

Oh I forgot he French are something else but I love being there

As a medic I have to agree, you see some stuff that you don't soon forget and what's more you think twice when driving.......certainly I have driven home very slowly after some shifts.......and the scariest thing is that you or your family don't even have had to have been driving badly, it only takes one idiot...... :|

Its like they always say - if you want everyone to drive safely, put a sharp spike in the middle of the steering wheel...

Or as i found out a few months back, drive 10 miles in a land rover full of 90L of petrol, 60L of diesel and a bunch of old car tyres - rolling bomb! :o

They are changing some of the main junctions around my area from normal cross roads to roundabouts and I can bet within 2 days of opening there are skid marks either around or over the roundabout. And when they finally slow down enough to get round it - signals not a hope in hell.

Sadly, it's much the same here. They put a new roundabout in near one of my regular delivery destinations and within two days - despite a 30mph limit, large "New Road Layout Ahead" signs before the roundabout and prominent street lighting on it, there were two "accidents", one fatal, involving people driving straight over the roundabout at speed.

Last week i as usual broke / did something to my bosses van

I taped the key hoke, doors and windows up...

He stuck a piece of tape over his eyes, not exspecting me to react quick enough to do this

Check this one out for how us oldies were taught to drive. I like to think I still do. (But if I'm honest???)

Some people put bike engines in 2CVs to make them go faster...

This Kei roadster had a similar treatment.
